What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is a synthetic material that has been used widely for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other types of implants. It is intended for the restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lypoatrophy).

What is Facial Fat Loss (Lipoatrophy)?

When the word lipoatrophy is broken down, "lipo" means "fat," and "atrophy" means "the loss of." Facial lipoatrophy is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes.

What is a Sculptra® Procedure Like?

Sculptra® is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. It provides an increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions.

What Type of Results can I Expect with Sculptra®?

Sculptra® takes time to gradually correct the depression in your skin; some patients may require three-to-six treatment sessions, with three or more weeks between each treatment. The effects differ for each person, but clinical studies show that results lasted up to two years after the first initial treatment session in most patients.
